Someone once called golf "a long walk spoiled". Well, the walking between the holes is a pure pleasure on the Seefeld plateau.
The villages of the area have long been a favourite destination among European golf courses and, with the smaller ranges and golf pro advice available in the village of Seefeld itself and a championship course out beyond Mösern, the keen player really is spoilt for choice.
And there's even a chance to improve indoors with video and swing analysis.
Golfers wishing to play while staying on the Seefeld plateau have the choice between the Wildmoos course, the academy at the Lenerwiese, and the driving range at the Geigenbühel. It should be noted that golf is still a relatively expensive sport in Germany and Austria and it is advisable to bring along handicap cards and to enquire about local rules and customs before trying to book a round.
Certain hotels on the plateau are known as "Founder-Hotels" and guests at these hotels receive a reduction on green fees and weekly tickets.
Golf Club Seefeld-Wildmoos
The Seefeld-Wildmoos
golf club, just outside Mösern on the
road down towards Telfs, has a par 72 18-hole championship course.
Amongst European golfers, the setting is acknowledged to be one of
the most beautiful on the continent - with the mountains of the Mieminger
and Wetterstein chains forming a natural backdrop. The course was
designed by British architect Donald Harradine and hosts numerous
tournaments throughout the summer. The course has a pro shop and
instructors are available.

Golfacademy Lenerwiese
The golf academy - a six-hole course with a driving range - is situated
in the centre of Seefeld near the railway station with views across
the Tyrol towards the Stubai alps on the other side of the Inn valley.
Instruction is also available at the academy.

Panorama Golf Seefeld
Panorama Golf
is based near the Geigenbühel in the centre of
Seefeld with a driving range looking out towards the beautiful Wetterstein
mountains. It offers courses and private lessons from PGA professional
Martin Turley.

Indoor Analysis
Indoor analysis with special machines, video and
instructor is available at the Golf Indoor Centre behind the railway
station, and at the
Alpenpark Sonnenresidenz hotel on Speckbacherstrasse.
Golfschule Leutasch
Instructor Patrick Jacobs offers courses, instruction
and incentive events from his base in Weidach.
