The lakes and mountains of the Seefeld plateau are a fantastic playground for children. Many families return year after year, attracted by the many different outdoor and indoor possibilities for their children to enjoy themselves.
Please do remember, however, that we are in the mountains. Children tire more easily in the fresh air here - so don't plan a walking day out which will be too strenuous at the beginning of their holiday. Be very careful of the sun - we are at a higher altitude than many visitors will be used to and that means that the rays are stronger, even on cloudy days. Be sure that your child is using sunglasses and sufficient suncream and you will be able to enjoy the summer sunshine to the full.

As well as the facilities mentioned on other pages, there are some specials children's attractions on the plateau. The Playcastle, which ran as an adventure and amusement centre, is unfortunately closed at the moment. However, the Spielpark ("Play-Park") at Leutasch-Weidach has a number of rides for children of all ages, as well as the ever-popular summer toboggan run.

Almost every village has a mini-golf area for those days when nobody wants to go too far afield. There are also mini-trains (in reality, carriages pulled by tractors in fancy-dress) which run around different areas of the plateau.
Most of the tourist offices offer a special children's programme. Seefeld, for example, offers child-friendly activities during high season which involve games with pirates and clowns, while Leutasch has a number of different days outside on offer, including building a wooden hut, a children's climbing course, and an adventure camp.
