Where to Stay in the Seefeld Area
The Seefeld plateau has a varied choice of villages and styles of accommodation.
From luxury hotels famous for hosting political get-togethers through to the family-run bed and breakfasts where the breakfast is pretty much all home-made...
From the well-known winter and summer resort of Seefeld through to the tiny hamlets of the Leutasch valley...
The map of the Region Seefeld below gives an aerial overview of the villages and the surrounding mountains. It is possible to zoom in and out or to move it with the controls. It is also possible to switch between the aerial view and a traditional road map view.
The Villages of the Region Seefeld
Seefeld is one of the best-known summer (and winter) resorts in Austria and offers the widest choice of accommodation and facilities. It is also the main hub for bus and train connections.

Leutasch, while it might not offer the infrastructure or name of Seefeld, could be argued to offer a more genuine Tyrolean mountain experience with its hamlets nestled at the foot of the Wetterstein range - and still offers a wide range of accommodation choices.

One of the best views on the plateau and a lovely lake above the settlement, this small village high above the Inn valley still manages to provide a decent choice of hotels, guesthouses and apartment accommodation.

Cruelly under-rated and under-marketed, the border settlement of Scharnitz is the gateway to the Karwendel Park and the first stop on the plateau for those arriving from the north. With its own rail link to Munich and Innsbruck and a good selection of rooms and apartments, the village is a favourite with walkers and mountainbikers in the know.

Many visitors to the plateau only see Reith from the train, as the main road from Seefeld to Innsbruck passes underneath the main settlement. That makes it a quiet base for those looking for cheaper accommodation and easy access to Seefeld and Innsbruck.
