Swarovski Crystal Worlds Bus Trip
Description: Swarovski Crystal Worlds, Wattens
Location: Tyrol
Duration: half day
Swarovski crystal is a popular collectors' item and visitors come from all over the world to visit the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens (or, to give it its proper name, the Swarovski Kristallwelten).
The Crystal Worlds installation was opened in 1995 to commemorate the centenary of the company originally founded by Daniel Swarovski, a Bohemian immigrant.
Nowadays the company makes high quality optical equipment, industrial crystal and high fashion items - as well as the famous collectors' pieces.
Contrary to the impressions of some visitors, the Swarovski Crystal Worlds does not give a "tour around the factory" or information about the manufacturing process. Rather the exhibition is based around various artists' visions inspired by the idea of crystal.
Bus groups will normally receive an introductory talk about the exhibition (expanded in recent years) from an official Swarovski guide. Members of the Swarovski Crystal Society receive free admission to the exhibition and a glass of bubbly in the VIP lounge.
The tour through the installation finishes in a showroom highlighting the range of products - and, of course, offering them for sale. Bus trips to the Swarvoski Crystal World are often combined with trips to Hall, Rattenberg or Alpbach. Slightly closer access to Swarovski products is available from the Seefeld plateau at the big Swarovski shop in the Innsbruck old town.
Please note that we do not operate or organise any excursions described on this site - they are usually run by British tour companies - and are unable to give any booking information for them as times and dates are only arranged at the start of the summer!
